Just wanted to give a little up date on Zeland. His thrush is looking much better. He still has a runny nose but his cough seems to be getting better. We are still running the humidifier and putting baby vicks on him. I think he is on the road to recovery!! Andrew wants to yell at the Doctor because he was fine before those stinkin shots!! Maybe one has nothing to do with the other but it just seems as though he has been fighting something since then.
Zeland is back to waking up at least 3 times a night. We have tried just about everything! Including but not limited to....
*Keeping him up a little later so he gets in an extra feeding. This doesn't work since he is outrageously crabby by 7:30 and is to crabby to even eat!
*Making sure he is dressed appropriately. Its freezing in the boys room! Yet its a sauna in our room.
*Rice cereal in his last bottle. Still not seeing any results with that.
*Using the pacifier instead of the feeding him. Cause really?..your THAT hungry..you just ate!
*Rocking
*Shhhushing
*Letting him fuss for a bit to see if he will eventually sooth himself back to sleep. This usually ends with him screaming and us rushing to get him before he wakes Cameron up.
*white noise
*Using the nose sucker thing so he won't be so stuffed up. Which he HATES!
*Elevating his mattress
I am totally at a loss...
Andrew was up with him last night so much that he called in to work today. I am keeping my fingers crossed that he sleeps tonight for all our sakes! We really don't want to let him cry it out...not to mention that he is in the same room with Cameron so we really can't let him cry it out. Plus I read this article by Dr. Sears that broke my heart in reference to letting babies cry it out. Please keep your fingers crossed that he starts sleeping or I may have to find a new job!

My friend gave me a book called Healthy sleep habits, happy baby, and it says that as counter-intuitive as it is, more sleep brings more sleep. So, make sure he's getting good naps and try to get him to go to sleep at 7pm or whenever he's just getting groggy. The theory is that over-tired babies just don't sleep as well.
Of course, being sick could totally be the culprit, and perhaps once he's better it'll help. I wouldn't blame it on the shots - I'd think it's more likely daycare. But regardless, he'll recover. You'll all recover. Hang in there!!!
For sure over-tired babies/kids don't sleep as good. We try and put him down as soon as we notice he is getting sleepy...I am hoping that once he is better things will improve...last night went ok so maybe its a good sign!
