First days

Today was my first day at work and Zeland's first day at daycare. I love my job!! The people are totally nice. I am training for the next four days and all next week from 8-4:30. After that I will be working Monday-Thursday from 6pm-4:30am, no weekends!!! I am working in the patient placement center...basically we place patients in rooms that are being transferred. For example, someone that had surgery and needs to go to a room. I will know what rooms are available in the whole hospital, on each floor, and can put him in a room according to his specific needs. The day shift is a lot busier then the night shift so I will have a lot of down time...I hope I don't fall asleep!! I will be working ten hours not twelve..thank goodness!! This morning was kinda crazy. Zeland was up at 3am and 4:30am. He didn't go to sleep again until 5am, just in time for me to get up and start getting ready. I tried to do what I could last night, but there were still some things I needed to do. I had to pack Cameron's lunch, make sure he had his take home folder back in his backpack, and wake him up so he could start getting ready for school. I also had to get Z ready for his day....which I did most of last night, but I just had to wake him up, get him dressed on top of getting myself ready, and out the door by 6:30am!!

Zeland will go to daycare Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from like 8:30- 3:00pm just so I can get some sleep. Zeland did great today at daycare, me on the other hand, cried all the way to work. I know he will be well taken care of, but I hate that I can't be with him all the time. His teachers said he was smiling and happy all day. He ate well and took two long naps. When I picked him up he was sleeping and I all of the sudden thought...what if he doesn't remember me??? Totally an irrational fear, but none the less I haven't been gone from him this long ever, and I was freaked out!! Needless to say, he totally remembers his mommy. I got a big smile and I couldn't stop hugging and kissing him!

I am totally exhausted....time for bed!!

on our way to daycare

I'm so glad you love your job!!!

Does your daycare actually have an option for those three days?

Sometimes I go to pick up Aurora and she's in a post-nap daze and it takes her a minute to realize it's me. Other times I really have to scan the room for her. "Bald baby, bald baby, bald baby... wait, which one's mine!?" But she usually give me a big smile when I pick her up, and I really do appreciate my time with her more when I've missed her all day.

Our daycare charges by the hour, day or week...its the only one that I could find that wouldn't make us pay for the whole week no matter how often he came.

Thats funny...when I picked up Zeland today I scanned the room for the kid with the sticking up hair!!!!

I'm glad you like your job. That makes a big difference. Hopefully, this will be a good thing for everyone in the family, Zeland included. You were fortunate to have a couple of months at home with Zeland. Today many women don't even get that. I wish I were closer, then I could look after Z some of the time.

Sending my best wishes love Nancy
