Dog bites and New Jobs

Cameron has been in Connecticut for a few weeks now. He flew on his own and of course did a great job and wasn't nervous at all. He has been having fun with his family there other then getting bit by a dog in the face! That's right a dog bit my child in the face. Cameron was scared but he was very brave from what I hear. He had to get 4 stitches. I talked to his grandma and she says he is healing nicely and has gotten his stitches out. The police found the owner of the dog and they have had the dog kenneled at the owner's expense. I assume this is to make sure he isn't dangerous and doesn't have rabies. Up to this point the owner of the dog has yet to even call and make sure Cameron was ok. In my opinion this is really a poor decision on their part. Really?! Your dog bites my kid in the face and you don't even bother making sure he is ok. Granted it wasn't bad but it could have been and if I were them I would be feeling really bad right now and I would want to make sure the kid was ok but I guess that is just me.

In other news...I have taken a new position within the hospital. I will be working in the transfer center. I will basically be facilitating transfers from other hospitals and facilities to our hospital. This is somewhat of a promotion and comes with a very nice raise. My two week schedule will look like this starting 6/28/09

Sunday 7am-7:30pm
Monday 9am-7:30pm
Tuesday off
Wednesday 7am-3:30pm
Thursday 9am-7:30pm
Friday off
Saturday off
Sunday off
Monday off
Tuesday 9am-7:30pm
Wednesday 2pm-8:30pm
Thursday off
Friday 7am-7:30pm
Saturday 7am-7:30pm

Zeland will have to go to daycare three days a week. I love that he had only had to go one day a week but I am so done working every weekend. All the daycare ladies love Zeland and he really loves being at daycare with all the other babies. He got moved to room three recently because he is a walkin little boy. I will post a video soon to prove it! He is such a sweet boy and I will miss all the time I have gotten to be with him but I will have a few days off during the week and every other weekend will be great to spend time and do things as a family. Good times to come.

That's a crazy schedule, but it's true that the weekend family time will MORE than make up for weekday time - and he'll do great at daycare. It's amazing that you have a daycare that will take him whatever days you need to drip him off, and hopefully your raise will cover the extra expense.

Congrats to Cam for the new war wounds. The ladies love facial scars! Of course, it would've been better if those owners were a little more responsible. They must feel pretty bad about the whole thing.

We love our daycare. Its a great bonus that we can drop him off whenever and they just charge a daily rate as opposed to one flat rate.

I think Cameron is more then handsome enough to pull off the scar! I am not sure they feel bad but either way you are right and they should have been more responisble. We are lucky that it wasn't worse

Congratulations on the new job. I think it will be good for everyone in the family. I know Andrew is more than ready to have more time with you. Weekends are good for family time together. It's too bad Zeland has to go in daycare at all. Come January I hope to go on a 4 day work week (32 hours) schedule. Maybe we can work something out.

Sorry about Cameron's dog bite. He looks like he's taking it all in stride. Glad it wasn't worse.

Congrats on the new job. Sounds like a better schedule with more time to be with your family. Daycare sounds like a good opportunity for Z to learn social skills.
