Hello again.

I have the urge to blog so I am going to blog. I am sure I will stop again and start again 50 more times. I am wishy washy like that. :) I have had a challenging few months and just didn't feel like I could pretend to be positive and happy when I wasn't really feeling that way but it's a new year and a new me! A happy positive new me. So...what's new in my world you ask?
I have two beautiful new nephews. Azik and Maddox whom I am completely madly in love with and actually will be spend lots of time with Maddox babysitting him on some of my days off when Caroline goes back to work which I am super excited about! I already have the pack n play set up for him to sleep in. Also in other baby news my sister in law Amber is pregnant! There is a lot of baby business going on around here and I love it!
Cameron was here for about 2 weeks for Christmas and we had fun while he was here. He is happy in Connecticut and doing well in school. He just started playing basketball and is of course loving it. Last game he played he scored 20 points! I miss that kid like crazy. I wish I could say he hated living there and wanted to come home but alas that's not the case. Michael is really doing a great job with him and I am happy they are getting to spend this time together and I think that this has been a positive change for Cameron. Me being sad isn't what's important and I am willing to put that fact aside if he is happy and healthy. I am really looking forward to summer with him.
Zeland is awesome. Or crazy depending on who you ask :) I cannot imagine life without him. He makes us laugh and he make us want to toss him out a window! Terrible 3's are no joke!

Wasn't Father's Day last month??

My name is Julia and I am a procrastinator. Poor Andrew just got his Father's day presents. Thank goodness he is low maintenance.

Yay!! Father's day presents 2 weeks late!

New running shoes! The back story on this is that we have a treadmill (a clothes rack) in our room that takes up a lot of space that I have been dying to sell because we do not use it and I would rather go to the gym but Andrew refuses to sell so we made a deal that he has to start using it or I am selling!

If you have ever had a child who is difficult at bedtime this book is freaking hilarious unless of course you are easily offended then I would say don't read otherwise please do it's so very funny.

Mission Escaping Heat!

It was (is) freaking hot in Phoenix. I really don't like Phoenix in the summer. All weekend we tried to avoid going outside as much as possible. We spent the weekend swimming in the morning, library, eating out, and watching lots of movies. The boys are on their own today for the 4th since I am working but I know they are trying to stay cool and are planning on BBQ'ing with Uncle Matt and Caroline. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend.

We got back from California on Tuesday. We had an amazing time! Seriously it was the most relaxing vacation ever. Zeland did a great job on the long car ride aside from getting sick on the drive home which I blame not on being car sick but missing California. I am not happy to be back in reality but I am so very happy to be home with Andrew we missed him very much.

Zeland's favorite things about California

1. Walking everywhere. Every time we would leave the house he would say that he wanted to walk and not take the car. I have to say this is my favorite thing too. Parking is a nightmare and being able to walk in the lovely weather is awesome.

2. Aunt Kira's cat Frankie. He loved playing with Frankie. Kira happened to be dog sitting the first day we were there and Zeland loved the Dog(Emma)too.

3. The city bus. He loved riding the bus!

4. The Aquarium which he called a fish museum :)

5.Jordan and Anthony...2 of the big kids we hung out with in California. He loves his big brother so he really loved being able to hang out with big kids and honestly it was nice to not have to entertain him for a little while.

6. The Beach although he wasn't thrilled about getting in the water which is fine with me since I do not go in the ocean and I would prefer my kids did not and in fact the only reason why I allowed him in at all is because we actually just went to the bay in Long Beach which means no sharks!!!

Zeland's Least Favorite Things.

1. Bedtime...I let him stay up every night WAY past bedtime which ended up catching up with us the last 2 days we were there cause he was pretty cranky.

2. Kira's cat Frankie. Yes I know this is also listed in Zelands favorite things but he did spend a lot of time telling Kira to spank Frankie because he was touching his toys or doing something else to annoy him.

3. Leaving..He wasn't happy to leave. He did miss Daddy but he wanted Daddy to come to California. I have know Kira for 18 years (how am I that old!!!) and I am sad every time I have to say goodbye to her and as I was driving away crying Zeland say "its ok mama Aunt Kira will be back soon" so cute.

We Made It!

We made it to California!!! We started off our vacation with pizza and ice cream in downtown Long Beach. Yummy!!!! Right now Zeland is up wayyyy too late watching a movie and I am praying he sleeps in. Tomorrow morning we are going to the aquarium and Zeland is super excited to see the fish and sharks!

Zeland did really well on the trip here. We made it to Blythe and stopped for lunch at mcdonalds and Zeland ate and played for about 45 min.

We got back on the road and Zeland did this for almost the rest of the trip....THANK GOODNESS!!!!

Birthdays and Weddings Oh My!!

Thursday we took Zeland to Chuck E Cheese to celebrate his birthday. He LOVES it there so he had a blast!

This past weekend we attended my cousin Michael's wedding. It was a geourgous day and we had a great time. Thank you to grandma Nancy who had a sleep over with Zeland saturday night so we could be Zeland free at the wedding. I am sure she is still recovering :)

Cameon's last day of school was yesterday and he is very sad...NOT! He is so happy that he is officially on summer vacation and on top of that he ended the year on a high with a 3.32 gpa and a 95% on his math benchmarks which is totally awesome expecially since in the begining of the school year he struggled with math. Good Job Cameron!!! We love you!!

about Zeland turning two and his likes and dislikes so keeping with tradition here is what Zeland is all about at 3 years old.

Being sat on his butt for being naughty...he seriously hates it. All Andrew has to say is "do you want me to sit you on your butt!" (same from last year)
Doors being open
Any light being on when he is in bed even if its my bedroom light shinning in from under the door
Eating--no really the kid does not like to eat and if he does eat it is one of like 10 things nothing overly healthy. I swear he survives on Kefir,string cheese,Cereal,trader joes cereal bars, grapes and eggo waffles
Being told that its time to leave the park or come inside

I am certain there are lots of things that I left out about little Z but I think that gives you good idea of what he likes and dislikes. Zeland is an amazing gift I am so lucky that I get to be his mom and that I get to watch him grow. Tonight we will be celebrating at Chuckie Cheese! Yay!

Weekend

This past weekend we were in Cottonwood attending a surprise party celebrating my Aunt Sharon and Uncle Gene's 25th wedding anniversary.

Zeland was all about helping open presents hoping one was for him.

Sunday we spent the day hanging out with Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Steve. We had lunch at the Main Street Cafe in Clarkdale where my friend Niki works. We haven't spent much time with Grandma Nancy lately since she has been very busy vacationing in Hawaii and seeing the other Wadey bunch in Texas so Zeland was very happy to see Grandma.

All in all a very good weekend. Next weekend we will be back in Cottonwood for my cousins wedding and doing a little birthday celebrating for Z, my mom and me. Although I am not exactly thrilled about turning 31 I mean I am glad to be alive and all but isn't it bad enough I had to turn 30! I think I will just stay 30 and pretend that I am not getting any older.

I can't believe I haven't blogged since Christmas time! I mean I knew I was slacking but 5 months..wow. I will do a quick update and then hopefully start back to regular blogging. Here's what we have been up to lately.

Andrew is playing almost every weekend Friday and Saturday night and practicing once a week with his band so he has been really busy and really tired. For Cinco De Mayo he played 3 shows in one night! The band (Kung Fu Grip) is about to go in to do some recording to have a demo to give clubs and what have you... Apparently there is some money to be made in being a cover band. Andrew would love to just play music and not work a "real job" BUT we do still have bills to pay and shoes for me to buy so that is not happening anytime soon :)

Cameron is about 10 days away from being done with the 5th grade and I am pretty sure he cannot wait to be out of school for the summer. Cameron leaves the 24th to go to Connecticut and we have decided to let him stay for 6th grade in Connecticut. It was not an easy decision but one that we have been thinking and talking about for at least the last 6 months. He is wanting to be with his dad and while it kills me maybe this will be good for him. I spent a few weeks crying just thinking about him not being in Arizona with me but as time has gone I feel better about our decision and I am looking forward to the benefits of switching schedules with Michael. I will get to have Cameron at Christmas which hasn't happened in like 5 years and obviously summer when I can plan fun vacations for us to go on as a family. Plus this totally gives me an excuse to go visit my friends that I still have back east.

Zeland will be 3 in a week! Where in the world has the time gone!?! I absolutely do not want him to grow up! We have busy couple weeks but will be celebrating Zelands birthday with the Stropka's and a few others at Chuckie Cheese. We will celebrate in Cottowood with the grandparents next weekend. Pretty low key just the way I like it and Zeland is pretty low maintenance so I am sure he will be happy with whatever. Personally I try and hold off on the bunch of stinking kids running around parties as long as possible. :)

and that leaves me...actually I am pretty boring just working alot and doing the mom stuff not much to report. I have been working a ton of overtime to cover co-workers vacations. Speaking of vacations I took some time off at the end of this month with a plan to go visit my brother in Tennessee but due to conflicting schedules and ridiculously high airline tickets we decided not to go so Z and I are going to take advantage of my time off and go to California for a week! We are going to be staying with my bff Kira in Long Beach with a side trip to Santa Barbara. We are just going to relax,go to the beach and the aquarium in Long Beach...sounds amazing right?! I also had an amazing Mother's Day despite having to work my boys brought me lunch and presents including....

Reason's why we had the best weekend ever
1. Zeland slept until 8:30 Saturday morning and 9:30 on Sunday. A-Mazing.

2. We had no plans.

3. We decorated for Christmas. Zeland loved putting the ornaments on the tree although most of them ended up on the bottom branches. :)

4. We watched Polar Express and drank hot chocolate.

5. Zeland slept until 9:30am!

6. Zeland is super excited about Santa. We were talking about it and I asked him what he wanted Santa to bring him and his answer was "Ju Ju Manes" (cho cho trains). I asked if he wanted Santa to bring him socks and his replay was a very strong NOOOO Mommy!! I think he has the basic concept down. :)

7. Zeland sleeping in.

8. We didn't leave the house all day Sunday we just watched movies and snuggled all day. It was glorious!

oh and did I mention Zeland slept in! yay!

My camera has decided that it doesn't like to take pictures inside so unfortunately these pictures are very dark but I still like them. Maybe Santa will bring me a new camera! ;)

I think we will have to get a bigger tree next year since Cameron is taller then the tree we have this year!

Reconnecting

I have decided that I need more time. I would only be asking for like 2 more hours in the day. Two hours where I have nothing to do but just hang out with my husband. Between working, kids and keeping my house from being a total disaster and attempting to work out there seems like there isn't much time left to just BE. There are times when it seems like I see Andrew in passing and most of the time I am bossing him around :) we need time together to just hang out. ALONE to just talk or watch a movie or play cards or whatever just time to re-connect. We have decided that at 9pm when the kids are sleeping and regardless of whether or not the dishes are done, regardless of how badly I want to go to bed because I have to be up at 5am we are going to spend at least an hour together. You would think that we would already be doing this but it seems like we are always doing separate things. Andrew on the computer and me reading, watching trashy reality tv or going to bed. Now we are going to make the conscious effort to re-connect everyday. At least until the new season of Bachelor starts...just kidding(kinda) :)

A few weeks ago as you all know Zeland go into my medicine and he was admitted to the hospital overnight in PICU (peds ICU) for observation. Not my most shining moment as a parent. I felt horrible. Something so preventable that seriously hadn't even crossed my mind. Lesson learned. Zeland was fine and showed no signs of a reaction to the medicine. He actually had a great time at the hospital which I am pretty sure isn't a very good thing but he loved it! He got 2 toy dinosaurs, a Toy Story book, we played in the PICU playroom where they had all kinds of toys to play with. Although Zeland had fun it was very scary and I am so thankful that he was ok. Hopefully we will never have to do that again!

Happy Thanksgiving! I am working today but the boys are at home with Uncle Matt hanging out, cooking and watching football. I do wish we could be having a normal Thanksgiving with family today but I don't eat turkey and if I am going to stuff myself full of food I would rather it be Mexican food anyway!

Hope all our Family and friends have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Also a very special Happy Birthday to my Grandfather who turned 80 last week. (I know I am late posting as usual!) Happy Birthday Grandfather hope you had a great day!

Zeland not exactly thrilled with dressing up in fact he threw a fit for Andrew in the morning because he made him wear it to school (we enjoy forcing the kids to have fun its kind of our thing! Ha! ) He looks really tired and notice Andrew didn't do a thing about his crazy hair!

I think Zeland's favorite thing about Halloween was pumpkins. Every time he would see a pumpkin he would say "my punkin patch" one pumpkin to him was a pumpkin patch. :) What can I say he is a very glass half full kinda guy!

Grandma Nancy and Daddy did a good job getting him excited to wear his costume. I was working (what's new!) so Grandma Nancy came over to take Z Trick-Or-Treating.

Cameron was with friends and dressed up as Sponge Bob and I am sure he was cute however I have not one picture to prove it!

No time to blog my family is in jail!

Just kidding...Pics from the McCormick-Stillman Railroad park in scottsdale that we visited a few weeks ago with Grandma Nancy. Zeland had a great time riding the little train, playing at the park, eating ice cream. The train was a little to baby for Cameron in fact he was embarrassed to be seen riding it but I made him cause that is what family fun is all about!

We had ice cream for breakfast which is a birthday tradition around here. Usually it's ice cream cake but this year we just had ice cream even Z got in on the action and was very pleased to have ice cream for breakfast. Cameron got money for his birthday and also the first book in the Harry Potter series oh and some jeans from Grandma Nancy and new shoes from me. These pictures are really dark since it was so early and still pretty dark inside but still cute.

Cameron wanted to go to Applebee's for dinner which wouldn't have been my choice but they did have really good margaritas

Zeland loves all animals. He loves making animal sounds and sleeps with about 8 animals every night. So I wasn't suprised when he loved the snake that my brother just bought. I hate snakes and didn't want it near me or my children but Zeland was so excited and Matt asurred me that it was harmless at least while its this small so I let Zeland touch it and eventially hold it. I can't begin to tell you how excited he was. He was laughing and jumping around. Poor snake was probably glad to be put back in his cage. Zeland held the snake a few times but would get so excited that he would toss the snake as soon as it moved in his hand. I got a few pictures none of them very good cause the lighting was bad and Z was moving around so much.

This picture would be perfect if his eyes weren't closed...he was so excited!

Actually its my Monday..boo for working weekends! While I am at work the boys will no doubt be watching a lot of football doing some playing at the park (the weather is gorgeous here..finally! ) and if I can talk Andrew into it, doing a little shopping at Sam Club.

I just finished reading the last book of the Harry Potter series. I cried. I cried because I was happy that the book ended the way it did and I cried because I am sad that its over. I do have the last movie to look forward to its just about 42 days until Part one of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows movie comes out and I cannot wait! The girls from work and I are going to the first showing at midnight November 19th.

Things I can do now that I am done with Harry Potter:

1. Stop ignoring my husband and children :)
2. Clean my house/laundry
3. Catch up on shows that I have waiting for me on my dvr
4. Read 4 other books that I have been dying to read but couldn't cause my head was to into Harry Potter to focus
5. Go to bed at a decent time
6. Go back to obsessing about how long I have to wait for Breaking Dawn to come out

This morning we all woke up bright and early to go watch Adam at his first track meet. He did a great job placing 22nd out of 80 kids...not bad for his first time. Not to mention it was really hot out. I can't wait until it finally starts to cool off here.

Grandma Nancy just got here and we plan on hitting the mall and doing a little shopping. Andrew just went to look at a new car. Keep your fingers crossed he needs to get a car that doesn't cost $300+ a month to drive.

Our good friends and used to be neighbors (until they moved and abandoned us) just found out that they are having a little girl. I am so excited for them but I am a tad bit jealous.

Poor poor poor Andrew he has to hear about how Julie and I really do have parallel lives and if he had just let me have one more baby I am sure it would have been a girl! All reason has gone out the window and I am now an emotional baby wanting mess!

I am sure this will pass but in the mean time I will torture Andrew and be overly motherly to Cam and Z which I am sure Cameron will just love being that he is 9 going on 20 :)

Holy cow! Can it really be 2 months since I last updated?! Where to begin….Matt moved out!!! Whoo hoo!!! Not that I don’t love my brother but wow it was time for him to move out. We don’t have a lot of room as it is so when you throw a grown man into the mix it was getting a little crowded! He is doing good in his new apartment and we are happy that he is going to continue with school. I think Cameron was glad to have his room back although now he has his old roommate back…this guy...

Which really means that Andrew and I have our room back since Z had been sharing a room with us. However Zeland isn’t quite adjusted to sleeping in Cameron’s room and insits on screaming bloody murder when we put him to bed which let me tell you has been a real treat. We are just hoping that with time and consistency by us he will settle in to his new room soon.

Cameron came home at the end of July much to the delight of Zeland who LOVES his big brother "Amrin". Cameron started the 5th grade at a new school in August. The district boundaries changed forcing us to change schools. Cameron was really nervous but so far so good. He has made some new friends and things seem to be going good. Academically he is doing well A’s and B’s however he is struggling a bit in math. Thank goodness Andrew is good at math cause I am apparently NOT smarter than a 5th grader! We are going to see how he does in the next few weeks and may end up getting him a tutor once a week for a while until he feels confident. His teacher e-mails weekly progress reports so we stay pretty up to date on how he is doing. Baseball season starts soon so I am sure our weekends will consist of baseball games for the next few months.

Zeland aside from a horrible haircut (thanks to papa who decided that Zeland needed to have a little trim leaving me no choice but to take him to walmart to fix it)
google a picture of Mary Lou Retton and you will see exactly what Zeland looks like right!Besides having a silly haricut Zeland is as cute and silly as ever and a non-stop talker.

In other news:
My parents had to put their dog Toby down last week. She was really old and probably in a little bit of pain so while it was the best thing for her we are all sad. Toby has been around since I was 13 years old and will be missed. I wish I had a picture of her to post here which leads me to my other issue...

My camera broke and I cried in fact I could cry just thinking about it. I have an old 35mm cannon that takes great pictures but really who uses film anymore?? I am going to see if getting it fixed is worth it or I might have to break down and buy a new one.

I am deep into the world of Harry Potter and loving it. I have 2 more books to go and should be ready to see the last movie coming out in November. Can't wait!

Andrew is playing lots of shows with his new band and actually making money which is a bonus! While he is not thrilled about being in a cover band and would much rather play original music he is just thankful to be playing. There may be a Burning The Bridge reunion this November which should be fun since he really misses playing with those guys.

Well I guess that about covers it. Looking forward to seeing family this weekend and watching some Roller Derby on Saturday.

Fun is Exhausting!

Its Wednesday and I finally feel normal after a very fun very exhausting weekend filled with old friends, bachlorette parties, and a wedding. I must be getting old when it takes half a week to recover from a weekend!!

Zeland spent time with my parents and Saturday Grandma Nancy took Z to the Rec Center for some swimming, and the library where they evidently checked out some puppets that Z loved and hasn't stopped talking about since Sunday.

Sunday Z and I went with my parents to visit GG and Great Grandpa. Z had a good time running around in his diaper, painting, playing with Sam the dog, smelling the flowers and eating endless amounts of vanilla ice cream!

Andrew stayed home and relaxed and did some manly things that I wanted done around the house but I think he mostly slept...we all know how much Andrew likes to sleep!

Guess who comes home on Sunday?!?! CAMERON!! I can't wait!

San Diego

How many adults do you need to take a toddler on vacation...3 to be exact! We got back Monday from our weekend trip to San Diego. Over all I think we all had a good time. Grandma Nancy went with us and thank goodness she did because she was lots of help and Andrew and I even got to go out few times ALONE which was great!Zeland had his cranky times which I fully expected since we were going to be off schedule and in a different environment. Not to mention a 5 and 1/2 hour car ride there and back. Thank goodness for portable DVD players (which stopped working the last 2 hours of the trip which happen to be the worst 2 hours of my life!)

Zeland had the best time at Sea World he keeps talking about the whale and the baby "yarks" (sharks). Grandma bought him a Shamu stuffed animal and he has added it to his collection of must have sleeping buddies.

Last night Andrew and I went with our friends the Stropka’s to see Toy Story 3. It was the first time that Z has been to the movies and he did a great job! I really was a little worried toddlers change their mood at the drop of a hat and the movie was going to push his bedtime limits but all in all he did really well. He would get excited and shout out the characters names or say “oh no!!” or “no no no bear!” he was really very cute!

After Toy Story I met my work girls to see Eclipse at midnight. I have never done that before and even though I didn’t get home until 3am and woke up early with Z it was sooooo worth it! Its going to be torture to wait for the next movie Breaking Dawn which doesn’t come out until November 2011…not sure how I will survive :)

June 30th Eclipse comes out! My friends and I from work are going to see the midnight showing. We already have our tickets and I re-read the book. I am fully prepared and Team Edward all the way!

July 2nd-5th We are going to San Diego! We have had all kinds of travel plans that have been squashed for one reason or another but I still really wanted to go somewhere this summer so we are taking a little road trip to San Diego. Grandma Nancy is going to be coming with us too! I get discounted tickets through work to Sea World so we are definantly going there. We are thinking about the zoo too if we can work it in without going into our beach time. I am looking into the best place to catch the fireworks too! Seriously looking forward to a mini vacation.

July 24th My very good friend Melanie who lives in Texas is getting married in Arizona and I am taking some time off work to spend time with her preparing for the wedding! I am a bridesmaid so it should be fun!

My schedule is changing so I am only going to be working one weekend a month! I couldn't be happier with my new schedule and it will give me more time with Andrew and the kids to do family stuff. This way I wont miss out on so much! Maybe my house will run a little smoother too :)

Somewhere between these things Zeland and I are going to do lots of swimming and a few other fun things indoors. Lord knows its too hot to be outside! At the end of July Cameron comes home!

Has been pretty boring..Cameron is gone and I have been working lots of overtime covering for my co-workers vacations. I am having some serious Cameron withdrawls and cant wait until he comes home! Zeland misses him too! CAMERON COME HOME!!!!

Oh and we still have freaking bed bugs. For sure still in Cameron's room and possibly still in the living room. My brother found one on his shoulder in the middle of the night last week. We called the exterminator and they charge 95 bucks to come out and since the chemical that they are using doesn't kill the eggs they would at least need to come out 3 more times! So that is 300 dollars on top of the $1,200 that we have already paid them. Screw that! It seems like for the last how ever many months we have had these damn bugs all I have done is read and research about them so we have decided to tackle them ourselves. I was able to order the products that our exterminator was using in addition to a product that kills the eggs. So this weekend Andrew and I are going to treat the house ourselves. Basically starting from square one again and packing up all our stuff for the next 4 weeks at least. Zeland will go stay in Cottonwood for the weekend since its probably not a good idea to have him around all the chemicals. I am beyond frustrated with this whole thing. If I didn't think we would bring them with us I would seriously move.

On the brighter side of life...Grandma Nancy came down to visit not letting the bed bugs ruin her chance to see Z and enjoy the nice weather we had here in phoenix last weekend. I of course had to work but Nancy and Andrew were able to hang out. They attempted to take Z to the pool and he refused to even go into the pool area. Not sure what that was about but on my days off next week I am going to try and take him again. I really don't want him to be afraid of the pool. They were also able to go to the Wild Life Park. I heard that Zeland loved seeing all the animals. I am assuming that Nancy took pictures but she hasn't sent me any yet. As soon as I get them I will post a few.

Zeland is seriously the cutest little boy I know and today is his 2nd birthday! Not sure where the last two years have gone! There was a time when I thought Cameron would be the only kid I would have and I was really ok with that plus I couldn't imagine loving another kid as much as I love Cam but then Zeland came along and I realized that I had lots of love to go around. I can't picture our lives without Z. I am so lucky to be the mom of both Cameron and Zeland. So here is a look at Zeland at two years old....

The boys (minus Andrew who was working late) and I celebrated Cinco De Mayo by eating some yummy Chipotle. Not necessarily authentic mexican food but delicious all the same. Zeland spent the whole time we were there saying "riccceee" which he just said for the first time in the car on the way there. So Cute!

Could we be bug free?? It seems like its a really good possibility but I for one am trying not to get too comfortable they are sneaky little suckers! We did however finally get just fed up with not having couches in the living room and Andrew and I went to Ikea Sunday am while my brother watched the boys. It was actually really nice to walk around Ikea ALONE and sorta fun shopping aside from the spending WAY to much money part! Our trip was successful but we still will need a few things like pillows and a new rug but for now at least we have somewhere to sit! I have started putting clothes back in drawers and closets but we are still being extra careful in Cameron's room which is where we found three the day the exterminator came. The exterminator seemed encouraging that those last few we found were probably some stragglers. I also purchased some ditomaceous earth which helps kill all kinds of bugs including bed bugs so I am going to just continue to treat our house weekly and then monthly after we are sure they are gone. This has been an experience to say the least! I am just praying that its over!

Last weekend my parents came for a visit to watch Cameron play baseball. The weather was perfect and we were so happy to see my parents. Zeland cried for a solid 10 min after my dad left...he loves his papa!

After baseball we had a yummy lunch at Macayo's outside on their patio. We were the only ones out there so the kids could be loud and silly and I didn't have to worry.

Zeland took some time out from lunch to practice his swing just like brother. :)

Friday the exterminator came and sprayed. Unfortunately we are still finding bugs but as Andrew and the exterminator keep telling me its a process and its normal that we are still finding them. The exterminator comes back in two weeks and hopefully our issue will be resolved otherwise we will just have to have him keep coming back. I am looking forward to being able to put my house back together.

Andrew worked on Saturday so after Cameron's baseball game (which he pitched and struck out the last two batters in 6 pitches to end the game.) I forced the boys on a girls day with Kira to Davids Bridal to buy our bridesmaid dresses for our friends wedding in July. Cameron did a great job wrangling Zeland while we were trying on the dresses. After dress shopping we ate lunch and went to the park. We always have a great time hanging out with Auntie Kira. :)

Sunday we were just really lazy but we did venture out to the park....

Its official I am losing my mind. Wanna know why....

Do you know what this tiny little bug is? No? Well its a freaking bed bug and that little bug is ruining my life. Last week Andrew found 4 of these bugs on the couch and decided to google them only to find out they were bed bugs. The next day I called an exterminator who confirmed that we did indeed have bed bugs and probably have had them for 5 weeks at least. $1200.00 is what it will cost to get rid of them and that is for the very mild case that we have. Thank the goodness we just have a mild case. Now my house looks like this :

and will for the next few weeks until the exterminator says that we are bug free. In the mean time we have to live our lives out of black garbage bags and oh by the way our couches were completely infested and had to be thrown out. I can't sleep and constantly feel things crawling on me and feel like crying all the time. Its awful and I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. Really trying hard to keep things in perspective and be positive but this just sucks.

Last night we celebrated Andrew's birthday but I didn't want him to have a plain ole boring birthday with nothing special so I went Cheesecake Factory and got him a Banana Cream cheesecake....his favorite. Then we cuddled and watched New Moon. Not sure he was thrilled about spending his birthday watching New Moon but.....oh well!? I had fun! Plus he is spending the weekend in Flagstaff with his friend sans the wife and kids so I don't feel so bad for him!

I have become one of those "lazy" parents who have to bring a movie to keep their crazy kid quiet at a restaurant and guess what...I don't care. If it keeps me from repeating the same thing 50 times and getting to have an actual conversation with my husband so be it. Cameron was seriously the most well behaved kid at a restaurant and I am not sure if that is because it was just me and him and we ate out a lot or what but he was always great! Zeland on the other hand...shoot me. I am hoping that its an age thing but I have to be constantly entertaining him and for me its just not worth it. I would honestly rather stay home. So for now when appropriate Barney will be joining us out to eat.

I have been considering not blogging anymore. Not that I do it often anyway and not that anyone even reads but life isn't so exciting and I am super busy working ALOT and when I am not working trying to keep a household of crazy boys together is exhausting and honestly the last thing I want to do is blog about how not exciting we are.

As you can probably tell I have a really bad attitude and I really all I feel like doing is sharing the things that are really annoying me right now but instead of complaining that my 10 year old doesn't listen, I feel like my brother is totally taking advantage of us, Zeland is quickly approaching terrible 2's and seriously embarrassed me the other day having lunch with Julie because he was freaking out, I can't manage to keep up with house work and if I see one more freaking dirty sock on my living room floor I am going to freak and kick all the men out of my house....I am going to talk about the awesome things that are going on because lets face it life is good and I am very blessed and sometimes I forget to focus on that fact. So here goes some positive-ness. :)

Zeland is still a Barney fanatic and has been talking a lot lately. I will post video soon. His new favorite thing is animal sounds also coming soon to video. He took a while to talk but now he is a talking little toddler! I can't even believe he will be two years old in two months. We are so blessed to have a sweet happy almost two year old even when he is being crazy!

Cameron is cracking me up lately. He is a funny kid with a great sense of humor. When I am not wanting to beat him senseless I am laughing with him. He really does have a great personality. He also continues to show what a great caring big brother he is. In two months he will be done with the 4th grade and be leaving to spend the summer in Connecticut. Not sure what the heck we are going to do without him! He is such a big help keeping Zeland entertained.

This week I'll be...Celebrating my 1 year anniversary, getting blood work done, escaping to Cottonwood to pick up my new glasses, baseball, writing WAY overdue thank you cards....thrilling isn't it?!

Out with the sickness!

My household has been sick for the last few weeks. First it was me with a cold that I fought off with Vitamin C and Nyquil. Then last week Z's ears were draining and hurting so we took him to the doctor who gave him an antibiotic and ear drops but we had a few rough days last week with no sleep and a high fever. My work is amazing and I have great co-workers who were willing to cover me so I could stay home and take care of Z. We did a whole lot of snuggling and a whole lot of watching Barney. Friday Andrew stayed home from work with a sinus infection. He went to the doctor who gave him so antibiotics and nose spray. Finally today everyone is feeling better and just in time because it was beautiful outside. We decided to get out of the house and hit the park with the boys. Cameron and Adam spent their time playing basketball and Zeland kept busy swinging and playing on the playground.

loves baseball. So much so that he pretty much plays year around. I for one am not loving winter baseball when he has an 8am game and its freezing outside but I suppose I really can't complain "winter" in Phoenix is not bad compared to other places.

Really loves Shoes. Seriously if you asked Cameron what he wanted for his birthday or any other holiday he would say shoes. I think he gets this from my mom :)

is pretty much the best big brother. He takes really good care of Z and is such a big help. I don't know what we would do without him!

Zeland

Really loves Barney, Mickey and Handy Manny which we love as well since we get an hour more of sleep in the morning.

could eat and eat and eat yogurt. He ate 4 things of yogurt before I had to cut him off and let me tell you he was NOT happy.

Really loves bath time. He yells ba,ba,ba and points upstairs when he hears any mention of giving him a bath.

New words are Hi which is usually paired with mama,dada, Bra (brother), or kitty. Night night, and Hola (thanks to Barney).

Seriously needs a haircut but for some reason I am really attached to all that hair plus I think its really cute...maybe soon I will let Uncle Matt cut his hair.

MLK Weekend

Last three day weekend we spent the weekend in Cottonwood,just Zeland, Cam , our neighbor Adam and I. We left the big boys at home and trust me they weren't complaining. :) Saturday night we hung out at Niki's house with her four kids plus her niece and my three boys for a grand total of 8 kids!! We made dinner, played games, ate popcorn and watched the movie UP (excellent movie). Can you see little Z in the picture holding his own ice cream cone?! How cute is that!?

Sunday we went to see Avatar with Grandma Nancy. Awesome movie, super long but awesome. Too bad we didn't see it in 3D that would have been cool!

The Big Purple Dinosaur

This morning as I rushed out of the house forgetting that Zeland was out of diapers at daycare not remembering until I pulled into parking lot at daycare. Thank goodness that Walgreens is right next to daycare so I started to back out to go to Walgreens and Zeland lost it! Saying school school school (well more like kool,kool,kool)crying and pointing at school. This went on inside Walgreens until I pulled into the parking lot at school he stopped crying and started laughing he was so happy. He was all smiles as I dropped him off. I said goodbye and gave him a kiss but he hardly even noticed. I called Andrew after I got back in the car and he said "Dont feel bad he just wants to watch Barney." It's true my kid is obsessed with Barney thanks to daycare. They let the kids watch barney in the afternoon while they wait to be picked up and sometimes in the morning. Either way Zeland doesn't acknowledge our presence when Barney is on. I did use this to my advantage the other day to get some stuff done. Is it bad barney babysat my kid for a full 40 min?

I hate to get back to blogging on a sad note.... Andrew's grandma passed away on the 19th. I am very dissapointed that we didn't make it out to visit her before her passing. We were talking about taking a trip in March so she could meet the Wadey babies. I don't have a picture of Grandma wadey so I stole one that Amber posted of Grandma Wadey and Andrew's brother Chuck.

Departed on Dec. 19, 2009 and resided in Vienna, VA.

Ruth Marie Wadey, age 93, of Vienna, Virginia passed away on December 19, 2009 at her residence. Loving wife of the late Harold C. Wadey & cherished mother of Charles W. Wadey, Ruth M. "Ruthie" Wadey & Martha (Barry) Virts. Mrs. Wadey is also survived by two grandchildren, Charles E. (Amber) Wadey & Andrew J. (Julia) Wadey & two great-grandchildren, Aurora & Zeland Wadey.

What a Difference a Year Makes

Last Thanksgiving when Chuck,Amber and Aurora where here we took family pictures which we did again this year in Austin. Hopefully we can continue the tradition every year. Look how much Zeland has grown from a little baby who could barley sit up on his own to such a big boy!

18 Months Old

Zeland at 18 months:

is getting more and more adorable everyday. I mean really just look at him how stinkin cute right?!

goes through times of eating everything in site to being very picky.

some favorite foods are any kind of cracker( prefers goldfish ), cherrios, yogurt, strawberries,waffles, apples, string cheese, broccoli however these are subject to change at any time without prior notice.

if he is hungry he runs to the kitchen and yells EAT EAT EAT!! Not very polite but he gets his point across.

is still not talking much. Our pediatrician says not to worry that he is fine. He understands and follows commands. Not to mention he is a boy so it may take him a little longer to talk.

is still in the 30th percentile for weight making him a little small but that is where he has fallen all along so we are not worried

is in the 90th percentile for height so I guess he is going to be tall and skinny. You know, just like me. Ha!

Loves his mama and cries when I leave the room and because of this I get nothing done on my days off which I actually like since I am terribly lazy and really who wants to do laundry on their day off!

Sleep Regression

Sleep regression is not cool. Zeland up until the last few weeks has been sleeping great. Going to bed at the latest 8:00pm and waking around 7:30am plus taking at least on nap a day possibly two. All the sudden he screams when we put him to bed for bed time and naps. Wakes up an hour later screaming and I literally mean screaming like someone is hurting him screaming. Let me just say how jarring it is to be woken up by a kid screaming bloody murder in the middle of the night. Not ok. The last couple nights I have let him sleep in our room just out of sheer exhaustion. Not caring where he sleeps just as long as he sleeps, but him sleeping with us isn't working either. He is restless all night. Andrew and I are getting little to no sleep. At first I thought maybe he was teething or maybe had a bad dream. We have tried rocking, patting, Drugging (Tylenol), cuddling, pleading, crying (me not Zeland), putting him to bed earlier and later, cutting down how long he is napping and nothing seems to be helping in fact some of these things are probably just creating new bad habits. Tonight we are going to just be hard core and stick with all bed time routines and under no circumstances let Zeland back in our bed. These next few night are not going to be fun. Wish us luck!!

California and New York

Two girl trips in two months! Wow I got really lucky! Both New York and California were fun but I gotta say there is something that I just love about California. Here are some pictures of both places. My next trip will be to Austin with my family for Thanksgiving. The Wadey Babies will be back together once again. :)

This is what I would like to tell the kid at Zeland's daycare that keeps bitting him. Not cool. They actually don't know what kid is doing the biting which doesn't comfort me at all. This means that they are not watching Zleand very well at all. Don't get me wrong I get that they have lots of kids to watch and can't be constantly all over Z but maybe for me that is a problem. Maybe I would feel better if he were at smaller daycare.These are the things that make me want to quit my job and protect my baby. Before I get all dramatic I am going to continue to send Zeland to daycare because I have to and in the meantime I will be looking for somewhere else to send him.

My child is afraid of pigs?? My parents have a steel pig that they use as a door stopper and Zeland has always been afraid of it. A couple weeks ago Matt and I were in Old Navy where they had piggy banks set up by the register. Matt showed Z one and he freaked out and started screaming. Matt thinking this was really funny got out his cell phone and recorded Zeland screaming about the pig. The video taken from a cell phone is not at all good quality but too funny not to share. Enjoy!

I know you missed us but have no fear we are back and will be blogging more then ever! Ok maybe not but I am going to try at least once a week. ;)

I don't know where to even start so I will start with Cam and baseball. Wow. Kid has skills. Those skills did not come from me I can guarantee you that. Must be from the Snow side.

Cameron is playing third base (just like his dad) and pitching. He really doesn't want to pitch but he is really good so the couch keeps making him. In the first game he was put in as the pitcher bases loaded (no pressure) and walked one batter and struck out the next two to end the game. awesome. The last game on Saturday he hit a home run! I am posting the video. Its pretty blurry but you see Cameron hit the ball and run the bases. When he hit the home run there was a kid on second base Cameron is running so fast he almost passes the kid they come into home base at the same time.

Cameron asked me for a laptop for his 4th birthday which began his love affair with all things technology. He now has a myspace, a facebook, an email address, a blog and he has been known to Twitter. He spends alot of time on Youtube looking up skate videos and listening to music on his ipod shuffle. He is dying for a cell phone which is a big N.O. He has been told that I will not even discuss this until he is at least 11 and that I didn't have a cell phone until I was 21 and he will survive. I mean really, who is he going to call?? Besides a cell phone is wants a digital camera and a Flip video camcorder a Nintendo Wii and an Ipod Nano. I imagine this is only going to get worse and more expensive as he gets older.

I just finished the second book in the Hunger Games Trilogy. I read it in two days now I am wishing I didn't read books so quickly because I have to wait a year for the thrid book to come out! Not happy. Anyway...the book was great I highly reccomend it. Now what the heck am I going to read??

Zeland is officially bottle free!!! On one hand this is really a great thing, No more washing and schleping bottles around and on the other hand this means my baby is really not a baby anymore. :(

Hunger Games

It is entirely possible that I am the last person on the planet to have read this book but it is amazing!! I have been looking for a book to read since the Twilight and Sookie Stackhouse series and just haven't really found something that I love as much until I read Hunger Games. I cannot stop thinking about it since I finished it sunday night. Luckily the sequel Catching Fire is out now I may just have to go tonight after work and pick myself up a copy. I may not survive if I don't. :)

Dates, Sick Kids and Fender Benders

This past weekend was supposed to be my weekend off but due to some shortages of staff at work I volunteered to work Friday and Saturday. I should really learn to say no but the overtime will be nice :). Saturday night Andrew and I went on a date. My brother Matt is staying with us for a while until he can get on his feet and decide whether he will stay in AZ or go back to PA. Its actually been nice to have him around he has been helping with the kids and offered to babysit so Andrew and I could go out on a date. It was great to finally get out just the two of us it doesn't happen very often. We went and had dinner at a nice Thai restaurant that we had been wanting to try and it was delicious!! Then we went to see The Time Traveler's Wife. I read the book and begged Andrew to see it even though he wanted to see something more "guyish" and guess what he really liked the chick flick. I think I may have even seen a few tears. :) I thought the movie was exellent and pretty much followed the book exactly. I love when that happens. I didn't feel like anything important was missing.

We planned to do something fun with the kids on Sunday but poor Cameron got sick Saturday afternoon so he spent most of Saturday and Sunday sick in bed with flu-ish symptoms. Zeland seemed to have a bit of a sick stomach also and ended up with the worst diaper rash EVER! I felt so bad for him. By this morning it seems to be mostly cleared up.

Sunday we got into a little fender bender in our new car. A woman hit us from behind at a stop light. She clearly wasn't paying attention but the damage was very very minor and we agreed to not call the police or go through our insurance. She offered to give us some cash and we gladly accepted. We will have the car checked out to see what it would cost to fix the bumper but really the damage is so minimal it may not be worth it.

Wow its Friday already how did that happen??

This week........

Zeland moved up a class in daycare this week. His teachers are actually ones that he had from when he very first started in the baby room. This week when I dropped him off he did a happy dance. I will for sure try and get this happy dance on film..it's pretty cute. Vladdy, Julie and Drew's son just started to the same daycare as Z . I am looking forward to Vladdy catching up to Z and being in the same class. How cute will that be?! Cameron and Adam are the best of friends and Z and Vladdy will be buddies too.

I did a little shopping this week for new clothes. Maybe I forgot to mention that I lost 30 pounds. Well I did and now I need some new clothes. I have to sorta dress up for work so I needed a to get a few new things that actually fit. Shopping was fun but I still am not a fan of dressing rooms. I realized I probably still have a good 10 pounds to lose. This shopping trip was not in the budget. I did use a coupon does that count??

I went grocery shopping and did not use one coupon. Amber posted a comment last week about being careful not to buy things you actually don't need just because you have a coupon. Our local Frys (my favorite grocery store) had a good sale and I ended up saving like 34 bucks. Not to shabby. I scratched the idea of going to more then one store. I mean really I only have a limited amount of time as it is I do not want to spend it all going from one grocery store to the next. We already go to Frys, Costco and Trader Joes I don't think I can handle anymore.

Cameron has decided that school lunch is really not good and now wants to take his lunch. Which is great if he would just remember to bring home his lunch box at the end of the day.

Did I mention Cameron is obsessed with Michael Jackson. Knows most Michael Jackson songs by heart. Michael Jackson creeps me out sorry but it's true. Musically speaking he was a genius but I have a hard time getting past his personal life. Anyway...maybe Cameron will let me post a video of his best MJ impression. Don't hold your breath though he is already telling me what pictures I can and cannot post.

Also can someone tell Cameron that to get an allowance you have to actually do something I think he is confused. He tells me last night that I owe him ten dollars for his allowance!!

My mom is coming for the weekend just to hang out and do a little shopping. We are going to Ikea on Saturday and then on Sunday we are going to see baby Lucas. I will take lots of pictures and post soon.

Weekley Wrap Up

My new job is fantastic. It's a tad bit stressful I think just because I am still learning but so far things are going really well. Now if I can just remember to clock in and out I will be all set!

Andrew has been super busy at his job lately too. Which is a really good thing. There have been times this year we were not sure if he would even have a job for long.

I am looking into buying our tickets for Austin in November. We are going to visit Chuck, Amber and Aurora for Thanksgiving. Andrew is going to drive with his parents and the boys and I are going to fly. We thought about all driving but then I remembered that would mean fifteen hours in the car with Cameron saying he was bored and Zeland probably screaming. No thanks.

I just put us on a budget. I don't like budgets. I like shopping which is probably why we need a budget. We are planning to go on our honeymoon to Europe this next summer and really need to get our finances in order. We have made some big purchases lately so I think its time to chill out a bit. I am pretty sure me going to Starbucks every morning is not necessary even though it is right across from my office practically begging me to go there.

Andrew just played a show this past weekend in Flagstaff at the Green Room. We had a great time. Even splurged for a hotel so we could stay the night and sleep in kid free. It was glorious sleeping until 9:30 am with no interruptions.

My new car is amazing. Why did we wait so long to get one?? I love you Toyota.

Zeland just learned to wave. Yes, I know most babies learn this at what six months?? Little Zeland always pointed instead of waved so now he waves and it's really cute forgetting the fact that on a milestone scale he should have been doing this long ago.

Zeland is getting four teeth and is drooling everywhere.

Cameron is a skateboarding fool. He loves it. He gets home from school does his homework and skateboards with Adam until dinner.

I was praising Cameron for doing his homework without me having to ask and his response was " I am in fourth grade mom, I am a different man"

Why is it that Cameron thinks it's totally acceptable to wear the same socks two days in a row? I don't wear my socks two days in a row. He has plenty of socks in his drawer. I don't get it. What I do get is that I had to light 3 candles and an incense to get the stink of his feet out of my nose.

Going with my saving money thing I think I am going to attempt to clip coupons. I have never been very consistent about using coupons and maybe I am really missing out on some serious savings. So this Sunday I am getting the paper, clippin some coupons and on Tuesday I will be at the grocery store saving tons of money! That's the plan anyway. I will let you know how that pans out. I might even hit a few different stores depending where the good sales are. That might be a little abitious for my first saving money grocery store outing but who knows I might be feeling extra frugal on Tuesday.

Thinking of doing an unplugged night at our house. One night a week where we just hang out together and have forced family time. No TV, no computer, no cell phones, just us connecting as a family. I pitched this idea to Andrew to which he agreed as long as there wasn't a sporting event on TV that he had to watch.

My cousin Becky finally after being on bed rest for weeks and weeks welcomed into this world on August 14th at 1:27pm baby Lucas Alexander Lindgren. Who was a not so tiny 10 pounds 11 ounces and 21 3/4 inches long. Possibly the cutest newborn baby alive!!Welcome little buddy we can't wait to meet you!!
